A camp collar short sleeved shirt in lightweight Jamdhani cotton.

This fabric was woven exclusively for KARDO by a 19 year old weaver called Sahil Ansari, who graduated from the Handloom School in Maheshwar, Madhya Pradesh and started his own weaving business in early 2020.  This was one of his first commissions.

Jamdhani is a discontinuous weft technique of weaving and can be defined as the art of fine ‘Parsi Gara’ done on the loom. In Jamdhani, motifs are inlaid into the fabric by adding a denser thread to warp threads by hand.  This technique is extremely difficult and time consuming  involving extremely skilled textile artistry.
